ADACA Guide: Codes, Collectibles and Cool stuff

This guide catalogues door codes and the locations of useful items, rare weapons, and other oddities in ADACA.

Note: This guide is heavily spoiler and works in progress, you can check out the spoiler-free version via the original guide.

Introduction

In this guide you’ll find information that might help you along when playing ADACA, from codes and locations with good loot to easter eggs and secrets. The guide is split into two sections, Campaign and Zone Patrol, with each section then split again into the various maps. Areas which aren’t found on the game map are described in the section of the map from which you can enter them.

PLEASE NOTE: Like the games ADACA takes inspiration from, this is a game about discovering things. The Zone Patrol mode in particular is structured around the idea that you’ll find bits and pieces of information and you’ll have to figure out where and how to use them. Thus, I suggest you only use this guide in those cases where you REALLY don’t know where to find something instead of just using this as a check list to work through. It’ll ruin your experience!

Campaign

Zone Patrol – BEACH HEAD

Codes

BSMT-535 – A small basement in the building marked with the ‘SAVLO’ logo.
47217

Rare Weapons

Bum Leg – A sawn-off rifle with a bayonet. Fits into the sidearm weapons slot.
From the drop ship, turn due east. On the other side of the body of water, you’ll see a small wooded area, to the right of a set of stairs that lead down to an empty room. Within the wooded area, you’ll find a mannequin with the Bum Leg stuck into it.

Miscellaneous

Data Cache
From the drop ship, immediately turn west. You should be looking at a big tube-like structure lying on its side. You can enter it through the water and you’ll find the data cache inside.
Data Cache Reader
Follow the train tracks to the easternmost part of the map. Behind the warehouse-looking building, you’ll see a tiny building wedged between the power line pylon and the radar jamming tower. The reader is in the tiny building.

Zone Patrol – BRAVO 2

Rare Weapons

Target Locator – A locator for an artillery battery. Have fun!
Enter BRAVO 2 from NECROPOL. Move through the gate, then turn left immediately. The first little building you see has the Target Locator in it, immediately when you enter it, on a table to the left.

Zone Patrol – CATACOMBS

Rare Weapons

Mistake – A silenced, scoped assault shotgun.
Enter CATACOMBS from JUNCTION 06, follow the hallway and walk down the two short sets of stairs. You should now see writing on the wall showing the way to CISTERN, Lab 28 and ‘HWY’. To the right of the wall with the writing on it is one of those enclosed staircases clad in what look like white wooden boards. Enter and take the stairs down. Leave the enclosure on the lower level, and move around to the other side of the same enclosure. You should see Mistake leaning against the white wooden boards of the enclosure.

Equipment

Ammo Bags – Doubles your maximum ammunition for all weapons.
Enter CATACOMBS from JUNCTION 06, follow the hallway and walk down the two short sets of stairs. You should now see writing on the wall showing the way to CISTERN, Lab 28 and ‘HWY’. Move along the gangway in an eastward direction. After a few steps, you should see an enclosed staircase clad in what looks like white wooden boards to your left. Enter and then go through the door opposite the stairs leading down. To your left, behind a bunch of boxes with a yellow cargo net is a shelf with the Ammo Bags.

Miscellaneous

Data Cache
Enter CATACOMBS from BLUE CAVERNS, follow the hallway, turn left and then take the second left. At the end of this hallway, there is a narrow passage blocked with some clutter. The passage leads into a room with some goodies and the data cache.
Data Cache Reader
Enter the CATACOMBS from STORM DRAIN and follow the markings on the walls to the Office. In the Office area, the data reader is on the eastern wall of the computer room, next to the room with the plants.

BIO LAB

(Lab 28)
Nothing of interest here.

THE NINE VAULTS

Nothing of interest here.

Zone Patrol – CISTERN

Miscellaneous

Node-03
Enter the Control Center in the eastern part of the CISTERN. The node is in the northwestern corner of the room.
Easter egg Purple Worm Statue
Enter CISTERN from BEACH HEAD. Move down the stairs, turn right in the big hallway and move forward. At some point, there will be two white cabinets to your left. There is a hole in the wall behind the cabinets, leading to a little room with the statue.

Zone Patrol – THE DISH

Hatch – A hatch on the ground near the exit to THE PIT in the east of the map.
See “Small Tower”.
Small Tower – A keypad on a small reddish-brown tower found in the northern part of the map, between the Data Center, the Dish and the exit to THE HAUNT.
8686 – this opens the hatch (see above).

Rare Weapons

Crossbow – A silent (?) crossbow with reusable bolts.
Move to the eastermost part of the map, near the exit to THE PIT (Free Scrappers base). There’s a building here with a ‘West Adacadian Mining Corp.’ sign on the side (the building you’ll need to enter to get to the Free Scrappers base). Get inside that building, then use clutter objects to make your way to its uppermost level. The Crossbow is lying on a table here and there are more bolts stuck in a mannequin opposite the table.
Pulsar – A 3-round burst fire variant of the Plasma Rifle, with a plasma torpedo secondary fire mode.
Make your way to the southern part of the map. You’ll find yourself on a road that’s partially covered in a tube-like structure, running from east to west. Follow that road to its westernmost point. There’s a Police drop pod there, right next to the road, with a corpse and the Pulsar weapon.
Special Rocket Rifle – An ordinary-looking Rocket Rifle but with a much larger explosion radius and more ammunition than the standard Rocket Rifle.
Make your way to the eastermost part of the map, near the exit to THE PIT (Free Scrappers base). There’s a building here with a ‘West Adacadian Mining Corp.’ sign on the side (the building you’ll need to enter to get to the Free Scrappers base). Go up the stairs, but don’t enter the building. Instead, turn around and jump on the brown pipes running from north to south. Move along the pipes to the south until you’re right in front of the red-and-white “water tower”. Jump up and you should see the special Rocket Rifle lying on top of that “water tower”. Use your gravity arm to grab it mid-jump.

Miscellaneous

Data Cache
???

Data Cache Reader

Easter Egg The Sword in the Stone – Not sure if this is a reference to something specific, other than Arthurian mythology maybe?
Go to THE PIT (Free Scrappers base) and make your way down the building until you’re on a gangway running along the building’s outside. Move to the southeastern corner of that gangway and you should see an outcrop in the rock wall. There’s a sword embedded in the stone there, but AFAIK, you can’t interact with it.

CONCRETE FORSET
Miscellaneous

Easter egg Cube-Head – Don’t know what this is supposed to be either.
Go to CONCRETE FORSET via the hatch in THE DISH and enter the small room to the east. Go up to the Idol and turn right. Zone Patrol – THE HAUNT

Codes

Door to The Bowels – A door with two neon green signs next to it.
032546

THE BOWELS
Miscellaneous

Node-04
Once you’ve entered THE BOWELS, move along the railing you see in front of you to the hallway on the right. Follow the hallway and move forwards at the first junction, then turn left. You’ll find yourself in an area with significantly less flesh on the walls. Take the stairs down to your right, then take the bridge to your left, then turn right and move up the stairs. If you’re here for the first time, you’re probably noticing the hallucinations. After the stairs, turn left, then right. Follow the hallway and destroy the hallucination emitting… thing… in the fleshy area. Now trace your steps back to where you just moved up the stairs. Turn left again, but instead of going right to the hallucination thing, there should now be an opened door in front of you (where you can see the blood on the ground). Node-04 is in the room behind this door.

Nothing of interest here… I mean, except for ALL THAT…

Miscellaneous

Easter egg Purple Worm Statue
Enter THE PINES from JUNCTION 06 and follow the train tracks until you come to a train bridge. Cross the bridge, then turn right and follow the beach. Towards the northern end of the beach, there will be an opening among the rocky outcrops which leads to the statue.

Miscellaneous

Node-05

Enter the doorway on the right, then turn left again. Follow the hallway until you see a button-operated door on your left. Operate the button on the button-operated door to operate the door. Walk to the other side of the room, across the stairs leading down (don’t go down the stairs, stay on the same level!) and then go eastwards. You’ll see a broken door on your left that you can go through – Node-05 is on the left side of the room you’ll enter.

STAG BUNKER
Rare Weapons

Pulse Rifle – Fires in bursts, with each burst from the same magazine being shorter than the last one.
Enter STAG BUNKER and follow the hallway. Turn right and enter the flooded hallway. Turn right underwater, then right again. Zone Patrol FAQ

Which symbols do I have to put into the five nodes?

Hint:
Here are the hints scattered around the zone (in no particular order):
LIGHTNING IN THE POWER SUPPLY
HAMMER IN LIVING ROOM
WOLF IN THE WOLF DEN
STAR HIGH IN THE WELL WATCHED SKY
COG IN THE WATER WHEEL

Solution:
Node-01 in THE DISH: a four-pronged star
Node-02 in CONDUIT: a lightning bolt
Node-03 in CISTERN: a cog
Node-04 in THE BOWELS: a hammer
Node-05 in WOLF BUNKER: a wolf’s head

How do I get Crow as a companion?

Enter THE PINES from JUNCTION 06 and follow the train tracks until you come to a train bridge. Cross the bridge, turn right and look at the grass-covered outcrop overlooking the beach. Jump on that outcrop and you should see a red flower. Pick up that flower. The next time you get close to Crow, you’ll automatically hand over the flower, permanently unlocking Crow as a companion. It’s possible you need to first find the data cache in OGR 018 and put it in the data reader, but I don’t think that’s a required step.
By the way: For me, Crow reliably spawned in the S-shaped hallway right after entering ADMINISTRATION from CONDUIT. Just leave the area and re-enter it a bunch of times and Crow should spawn eventually.
