A quick heads up for all our global Tycoons out there.
Good Company supports the following languages:
- Português do Brasil
The game should detect your preferred language automatically.
However, if your language is not showing up, or if you’d like to change the display to something else, you can do so manually via Steam’s language selection in the game’s properties menu.
- Find the game in your Steam library
- Right click and select ‘PROPERTIES’
- Navigate to the ‘LANGUAGE’ tab
- Select your desired language from the drop down menu
- Close the properties window and start the game
We would love to bring Good Company to Linux & Mac as well. As it stands we won’t be able to support Linux/Mac right away. But we will look into this by the end of the Early Access phase.
Good Company is primarily a tycoon game about building a company. We could’ve gone with any type of product actually. We just had to settle on a product category because allowing the player to produce everything under the sun would have been an impossible endeavour. So, the least boring thing we could think of were robots. They are versatile, interesting, and complex machines providing a promising amount of problems for the player to tackle. At Early Access, we have both robots and robotic predecessors such as calculators and pocket computers. With that said, we structured our game in a way that makes it easy to add further products after the fact. We will be looking to expand our product list during Early Access so stay tuned!
We are planning on adding multiplayer into the game during our Early Access period.
While it is not a launch feature, we are committed to making it happen. We have a rough version of the basics working but we still have some things to solve before it is ready to get into your hands. It’s one of the things we are excited to work on and have it on our list for the Early Access phase, and planned before the final release.
In the cooperative multiplayer mode, you will share a company with your friends. You’ll have to work together to grow your enterprise, improve your production, and advance in technology. Currently, our thinking is that each player of a coop session controls a character and is able to do anything they would be able to do in a single-player game. So clear communication and division of responsibilities will be key to being successful as a team of leaders. You have to remember: you share common goals and assets with your peers. Everything you do will affect them and vice versa.
As we progress with the development we want to implement additional features which allow you to organize larger groups of players. Obviously, this would have to go beyond simple chat functions.
We haven’t scheduled the implementation of a competitive mode in the foreseeable future. However, it is something we’ve talked a lot about internally and we have plenty of ideas for such a game mode. As with many interesting features, we would like to have it in the game but more important things require our attention first. If we end up adding a competitive mode it will probably be very late during or even after the Early Access phase.
