Persona 5 Royal: All Possible Endings Guide

Details all the different steps you need to take to see all 5 different endings, and point out all the possible game over endings.

Introduction

This is for people who want to see all the possible endings in Persona 5 Royal. As this is an ending guide, be warned that there will be spoilers. I would recommend at least beating the game once before reading through this.

The main difference between the 5 main possible endings and the game over endings is that the 5 main endings allow you to start New Game+ after watching it, whereas game over endings will just rewind time and put you back a week.

True (Royal) Ending

The Royal Ending is basically the True Ending, but with an extra scene if you meet the requirements.

November 17
Once you’ve gotten the Councillor (Maruki) Confidant to Rank 9 by 11/17, you will unlock the 3rd semester and the story will progress towards the True (Royal) Ending.

– You’ll also need to get the Justice (Akechi) Confidant to Rank 8 by 11/17 to unlock the Royal Ending’s extra scene. Otherwise, you’ll only get the True Ending.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to the Faith (Kasumi) Confidant to be Rank 5 before 12/22 for the True (Royal) Ending. Not doing this just means you won’t be able to max the Confidant later on in the story.

November 20
You will be interrogated by Sae. Only the 2nd and 3rd question matters for the story to progress further.

Question
Correct Response
#1: Care to strike a deal?
Doesn’t matter.
#2: Those are your accomplices in the Phantom Thieves case, are they not?
“No” or “Never heard of them.”
#3: Can you tell me about them?
“There were no such people.”

December 24
You will be offered a deal by the God of Control. Refuse it to progress the story.

Question
Correct Response
#1: Is that really how the world should be?
“I refuse.”

January 9
You will be offered a deal by Maruki. Refuse it to progress the story.

Question
Correct Response
#1: For the sake of Yoshizawa-san, and the rest of your friends… I ask you to give me your answer
“I can’t accept this reality.”

February 2
You will be offered a deal by Maruki again, and Akechi will talk to you. Reaffirm your will to fight to get the True (Royal) Ending.

Question
Correct Response
#1: I won’t wait a moment longer. Answer me.
“We’re stopping Maruki.”

Normal Ending

The Normal Ending was the True Ending in Persona 5.

November 17
Do not get the Councillor (Maruki) Confidant to Rank 9 by 11/17, or the story will progress towards the True (Royal) Ending.

Bad Ending 3

There’s actually two ways to get this ending, one on Jan 9, and the other on Feb 2.

November 17

“I’m serious.”

ALTERNATIVELY (If you refused the deal on January)

February 2
Maruki will offer you the deal again, and Akechi will talk to you afterwards. Tell him you’re taking the offer to get the ending.

Question
Correct Response
#1: I won’t wait a moment longer. Answer me.
“We’re taking the offer.”

Game Over Endings

For each palace, there’s a different game over ending for failing to clear it before the deadline. They’re pretty interesting to watch since the endings themselves vary to a degree as you progress the story, so it’s not just a generic game over screen.

Note that once you get the game over, you won’t be given the choice to start a New Game+. You’ll only be able to rewind to a week ago, or load a save.
