Trivia Tricks: 100% Achievement Guide

A guide to unlocking all the achievements in Trivia Tricks with suggestions on how to get them quickly and the tricks you’ll need to unlock the trickier ones.

Part 1

Trivia Tricks has a good amount of achievements. Some are simple to get, others require a bit more…tricks to get. This guide will help you to unlock them all as well as offering suggestions on how to get them quickly.

Please note that these are correct as of March Patch. I will update this when new achievements are added.

Trivia Novice

Play 5 games of Standard Trivia!

Trivia Rookie

Play 10 games of Standard Trivia!

Trivia Expert

Play 50 games of Standard Trivia!

Trivia Pro

Play 100 games of Standard Trivia!

Trivia Master

Play 150 games of Standard Trivia!

All of these achievements require you to play a full game of Standard Trivia. Be sure to play all the way to the end and not quit early for it to count. This can be either offline or online. Please note that Co-Op games do not count.

The fastest way to get through these achievements is to set the Length to Short (under the “Settings” tab) and turn Chance Rounds off (under the “Bonuses” tab).

You can keep track on how many games you’ve played by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “Game Stats” page.

Numero Uno

Win a game of Standard Trivia!

Huge In Fact

Win 10 games of Standard Trivia!

Again, these achievements need to be done in Standard Trivia rather than in Co-Op. A good way to increase your chances of winning is to go into the “Categories” section (found under the “Settings” tab) and turn off any categories you’re least confident with. At the time of writing, you can turn off up to 7 categories. If you find that Chance Rounds are screwing over your chances, you can also turn it off but it’s up to you. And if you’re really struggling, you could remove the number of AI by pressing the “[“ button until only one remains.

To find out how many games you’ve won, select “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “Game Stats” page.

Enlightened

Answer 500 questions correctly!

All-Knowing

Answer 1000 questions correctly!

Regardless of which game mode you play and regardless if you win the game or not, whenever you get a question right, it will count towards these achievements. If you want to get these achievements quickly, you could turn off your weakest categories and set the Length to Long.

You can keep track of the number of questions you’ve answered correctly by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “General Stats” page.

Losing Is The New Winning

Place last in a Standard Trivia game!

The guaranteed way on placing last is to not answer any questions and turn Chance Rounds off so you’ll end up with exactly 0 points. If you want to speed this up, you can lower the Answering Time to 15 seconds (under the “Settings” tab).

Big Brain

Get every question correct in a single round!

Like the “Numero Uno” and “Huge In Fact” achievements, you can set the categories to topics you’re most confident with. You don’t need to win the entire game. As long as you get all 5 questions right in a round, you’ll unlock this achievement.

Retail Rush

Buy an item with your hard-earned TriviaBucks!

At the end of a game, you’ll win some money (referred to as TriviaBucks). The better position you’ve placed, the more money you’ll win (see table further down for details). Money can be spent on custom parts (consisting of eyes, mouths, hats and clothes) for your character which you can access under “Character Creator”. Buy any item to earn this achievement. The cheapest item costs 5000 TriviaBucks.

Big Bucks

Reach lifetime TriviaBucks earnings of $250,000!

Fat Stacks

Reach lifetime TriviaBucks earnings of $500,000!

Making It Rain

Reach lifetime TriviaBucks earnings of $750,000!

This refers to the total amount of money you’ve earned. Don’t worry about buying items as it will not slow you down on earning these achievements. Keep playing and you’ll earn these achievements eventually.

How much money you earn is based on the number of players you beat at the end of the game which are as follows:

Beating 7 players
$10,000
Beating 6 players
$8,000
Beating 5 players
$6,000
Beating 4 players
$5,000
Beating 3 players
$4,000
Beating 2 players
$3,000
Beating 1 player
$2,000

Coming last in an 8 player game gets you $1,000

Additionally, beating a boss gives you $10,000 while losing to them gives you $5,000 so if you’re not the smartest, then playing Co-Op should give you more money faster.

You can keep track on your total money earned by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “General Stats” page.

A neat trick on getting money faster is by playing during the Trivia Tuesday events where the amount of money you’ll earn is doubled. Refer to the “Trivia Tuesday!” achievement for more details.

Warming Up

Get 100 Red Streak Bonuses!

Feeling The Heat

Get 100 Blue Streak Bonuses

If you get 2 answers correct in a row, you’ll earn a Red Streak Bonus where you’ll earn more points. You can tell that you’ve earned this when flames appear on your character’s podium and a flame symbols appears on your character’s name in the leader board. If you get another answer right in succession (in other words 3 answers right in a row), the flame turns into blue, earning you a Blue Streak Bonus where you’ll gain even more points. The flames disappear when you answer a question incorrectly. The streak carries on in-between rounds but not in-between games.

However, this achievement only counts for each NEW streak you hit. I.E. Once you hit the Blue Streak, it doesn’t count the total anymore until you lose the streak and hit it again so if you want to earn those achievements quickly, then you need to answer the next question incorrectly after hitting the Blue Streak.

As with most of the achievements, setting the categories to your best ones will help increase the chances of you earning streaks so you’ll obtain this achievement faster.

Please note that Streak needs to be turned on under the “Bonuses” tab for them to be enabled (they should be on by default).

You can keep track on the number of times you’ve earns the streaks by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “Bonus Stats” page.

Part 2

Lighting Fast

Get 50 Speed Bonuses!

Speed Incarnate

Get 200 Speed Bonuses!

If you answered a question correctly within 6 seconds after it appears, you’ll earn a speed bonus, earning you more points. You can tell you’ve earned this when lighting appears on your character’s podium and a lighting symbol appears on your character’s name in the leader board. Again, sticking to the categories you’re most confident with will help you earn these achievements quickly but the timing is fairly generous so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Please note that Speed needs to be turned on under the “Bonuses” tab for them to be enabled.

You can keep track on the number of times you’ve earns the Speed Bonus by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “Bonus Stats” page.

Rolling The Dice

Earn or lose 5,000 or more points in a single Chance Round!

Earn this by either having at least 3,334 points and earn a 1.5 ball or have 10,000 or more points and earn the ½ ball.

Remember, Chance Rounds needs to be enabled via the “Bonuses” tab. You’ll have more chances on hitting the 1.5 and ½ ball if you set the Chance Round to “Chaotic”.

BUY! BUY! BUY!

Reach lifetime revenue of 100,000 points in Chance Rounds! (Losses excluded)

SELL! SELL! SELL!

Reach lifetime losses of 100,000 points in Chance Rounds! (Revenue excluded)

Keep joining in Chance Rounds at every round (even if you’re winning and you fear of losing points) and you should get these achievements eventually.

Remember, Chance Rounds needs to be enabled via the “Bonuses” tab. As with the previous achievement, setting the Chance Round to “Chaotic” should speed up the process.

You can keep track on the number of chance round points you’ve earned and lost by selecting “Statistics” on the main menu and going into the “Bonus Stats” page.

If you’re after the “SELL! SELL! SELL!” achievement, then you should switch to Co-Op mode and face Negative who only “rewards” negative bonus points.

Lucky Kitty

Take part in every Chance Round in a Standard Trivia game and finish first!

As mentioned in previous achievements, setting the categories that you’re most confident to increase your chances of earning this achievement. Hopefully, you’ll earn enough points that if you earn a negative ball, you’ll still be on top (unless you get a ½ ball…).

Remember, Chance Rounds needs to be enabled via the “Bonuses” tab. If you’re good at trivia, I would also recommend setting the Chance Round to “Fair” where 1.5 balls and ½ balls are removed. If you’re not so good at trivia, then you could instead set it to “Chaotic” and only add one AI so the chances would be 50/50.

Unlucky Kitty

Take part in every Chance Round in a Standard Trivia game and finish last!

As with the “Losing Is The New Winning” achievement, a trick you can do in order to earn this achievement is to not answer any questions so that you’ll earn minimum points. That way, you’ll stay at the bottom. To speed the process up, lower the Answering Time to 15 seconds (under the “Settings” tab).

Remember, Chance Rounds needs to be enabled via the “Bonuses” tab.

It might be possible for you to earn this achievement and “Honk” at the same time but that means you’ll need to answer questions for it to count (see the “Honk” achievement section for more details).

I Have Friends!

Play a game with a Steam friend!

Grab a friend and have them join an online room with you. Be sure both of you play the game to the end regardless if either of you win or lose. Should work in both Standard and Co-Op modes.

If you do not have any friends to play with, you can try heading to the official Trivia Tricks Discord room[discord.com] and arrange a game there.

I’m The King Now

Beat King in Co-Op Vs Boss Mode!

King is one of the bosses available to play against in Co-Op Vs Boss Mode (which you can change in the “Mode” tab). The King earns more points for himself for each question he correctly picks so work together with your team so that you all pick the correct answer and score more points against him. Also, Chance Rounds are permanently turned on as the King dishes out the bonus points himself.

Don’t worry if you can’t directly communicate with your team as their chosen answers will be visible onscreen (this only works with real players though. You cannot see the AI’s chosen answer) and you’ll be able to change your own answer if necessary.

You can turn some categories off to make this easier but bear in mind that you can only turn off a maximum of 3 categories and you’re unable to turn off History and Geography.

Got on Crab!

Get on crab!

To unlock the elusive crab, head into the Main Menu and select “Options”. Under the “Misc” page, there should be a button called “Get On Crab”. It doesn’t always appear so if that’s the case, go back to the Main Menu and re-enter the Options Menu. When it does appear, tick it then select “Apply”. This also unlocks the Crab Hat in the Character Creator.

Trivia Tuesday!

Play a game during Trivia Tuesday!

Trivia Tuesday is an event that (obviously) occurs every Tuesday. For one hour, the amount of money you earn is doubled. There are two time slots which are as follows:

EU Friendly Time Slot

6pm – 7pm
GMT (Tues)
2pm – 3pm
EST (Tues)
1pm – 2pm
CST (Tues)
11am – 12pm
PST (Tues)
US Friendly Time Slot
2am – 3am
GMT (Wed)
10pm – 11pm
EST (Tues)
9pm – 10pm
CST (Tues)
7pm – 8pm
PST (Tues)
Times are subject to change. You can keep up with the details here.

You do not need to play for the full hour nor do you need to join both time slots. Just completing one game will suffice in earning the achievement. This needs to be from the start of a game though. It won’t work if you join a game already in progress. While the event encourages players to play online, if you can’t join an online game for whatever reason, you can still play offline and receive the bonuses and achievement.

Born Leader

Win as the MVP in Co-Op Vs Boss mode!

MVP refers to the person who has the highest amount of points during a round of Co-Op. You can tell who the MVP is when the person’s name appears on the leader board (as “Team xxxx”).

However, for this achievement to count, you not only need to be the MVP at the end of the game but for your team to win (i.e. it won’t count if the Boss wins). As Chance Rounds is always in play, this may require a bit of luck to obtain but if you want to increase your chances, you might want to turn off some categories that you’re not confident in.

Part 3

Negative Attitude

Beat Negative in Co-Op Vs Boss mode!

Negative is the second boss in Co-Op mode. Unlike King, any categories can be turned off but he’ll only “award” you negative bonus points. Once more, getting any answers incorrectly will deduct some scores. As Negative has a higher difficulty than King, your teamwork needs to be stronger to prevail. You can at least, turn off more categories this time (up to six).

Sticking To Your Guns

Be the only player to get an answer right in a Co-Op game with 4 or more players!

I would advise you to get at least 3 of your best friends and co ordinate with them in order to earn this achievement. They all need to choose an incorrect answer while you select the correct one. It doesn’t count if they don’t pick one.

Otherwise, keep playing an offline game with 3 AI. You’ll get this achievement…eventually.

Don’t worry if the boss also picks the correct answer as you’ll still unlock the achievement.

If you have spare controllers lying around, you might be able to earn this achievement by adding 3 other players locally and have them choose different answers to you but I haven’t tested this out.

Honk!

Get every question wrong for an entire Standard Trivia game!

My advice is to turn on categories that you are confident with and set a short game (so that this will be less painful). That way, since you’re more likely to know what the answer is, it’ll be easier to pick the wrong answer. You don’t need to worry about having Chance Rounds on or not. Also, you need to actually pick an answer. It doesn’t count if you go through the entire game without picking one.

You can’t earn this achievement in Co-Op but you can still get some very patient and understanding friends and work together in Standard Trivia mode by going into Settings and turn “Visible Answers” and “Change Answers” on. Communicate to each other on the incorrect answers and you’ll all earn this achievement together!

Tuesday Tussle

Beat a Boss in Co-Op during Trivia Tuesday!

Refer to the “Trivia Tuesday!” achievement for details about Trivia Tuesday. Can be done online of offline. You can beat any boss with this achievement so pick the one you’re most comfortable with and win!
